What happens to what you type
The booking form, and the registration box at the top of the home page, work on this website only. When you send a request, nothing leaves your browser: no message is sent, nothing is stored and the form is cleared. A registration typed on the home page is carried to the booking in the part of the web address after the # sign, which browsers never send to a website, and the booking removes it once it has read it. Without JavaScript, the booking reloads this site’s own page to show its message, and only the service you chose appears in the address bar.
Cookies and tracking
None. The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other websites: its fonts and photographs are served from this site.
Maps and directions
There is no embedded map; the maps on this site are drawn. The directions links open Apple Maps or Google Maps only when you choose them, and those services’ own privacy policies then apply. Directions go to Heaton Norris, Stockport, because the workshop’s address is a demo one.
Phone numbers and social links
Bayline Autocentre is fictional. Its phone number comes from the range Ofcom keeps for drama, and the Call buttons open a note instead of dialling. It has no social media pages, so those links open a note too.
Photographs, reviews and credentials
Photographs are free stock images used for illustration; nobody in them works at or visited a real Bayline Autocentre. Reviews, ratings, prices, the guarantee and the credentials are samples, and are labelled so.
On a real website
A live version of this site would say here who runs it, what the booking form collects (a name, a phone number or email address, and the car’s registration or make and model), why, how long it is kept and how to ask for it to be deleted.
